EyeDetect+ Wins Security Today Magazine’s New Product of the Year Award
EyeDetect+ gives U.S. security companies a faster and more affordable option for screening job candidates and conducting investigations. This advanced lie detection technology won the Employee Screening category in the 2020 Security Today magazine new product of the year awards.
LEHI, Utah – Sept. 21, 2020 – Security Today magazine recently named EyeDetect+ the 2020 New Product of the Year Award Winner in the Employee Screening category.
This enhanced version of EyeDetect, released by Converus in May, uses a device called “Physio Tracker” to gather the similar physiological data captured by a standard polygraph instrument: cardiovascular, respiration and electrodermal activity. These data, along with the standard measuring of involuntary eye behavior, gives security companies a new option for employee screening and investigations that is compliant with the Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA).
“New products and technologies are the backbone of the security industry; however, with the pandemic affecting everyone these days, businesses have been in survival mode,” said Ralph C. Jensen, editor-in-chief of Security Today magazine. “The products we’ve seen entered in this year’s competition are best of the best. Manufacturers are once again stepping forward with solutions that will impact end users’ safety and security. I’m pleased to see so many entries from numerous manufacturers. It is comforting to know that technology and solutions never take a leave of absence from security concerns.”
Unlike other lie detection methods, EyeDetect+ is a minimal-contact, automated computer-based test. According to Converus, this allows security firms the ability to maintain safe social distancing while prescreening a job applicant or when testing an employee during an investigation of a known economic loss.
“Pandemic restrictions have created more demand for additional personnel to guard facilities,” said Converus President and CEO Todd Mickelsen. “This increased need for security firms to fill open positions quickly makes EyeDetect+ the ideal screening method.”
EyeDetect+ takes 30 minutes to screen applicants and 15 minutes to conduct investigative tests on suspects, with results ready in 5 minutes. Screening tests are 88% accurate and investigative tests are 90% accurate.
“Customers and the public trust security firms to safeguard people, places and information,” said Converus President and CEO Todd Mickelsen. “Without an efficient prescreening process for job candidates, as well as accurate testing of current personnel, a security firm’s reputation is at great risk.”
Mickelsen says EyeDetect+ can identify disqualifying activities in a job candidate’s history that an interview, background investigation, fingerprint check, drug test or personality test may not uncover.
Converus is currently offering U.S. security firms a free test drive of the technology. For more information, visit www.converus.com or call 801.331.8840. Ask for Adam Johnson in sales.
