Police Officer Scams A Scammer

Court case against pharmacist shows the need for a lie detection solution that is quick, easy to use, and inexpensive.

A man from the “IRS” left a voice message for Officer Kyle Roder one evening, telling him via voicemail that he was going to be arrested for fraud. The officer wanted to figure out what the charges were, so he called the “IRS Agent” back.

Fake IRS Agent

The IRS agent, or scammer, unaware that he is about to be scammed by an Eau Claire (Wisconsin) police officer, answers the phone call. Officer Roder lets the “agent” know that he is returning a call in hopes to avoid being arrested. The scammer asks for a case number, but when the cop relays he wasn’t given one, the “agent” says he will look Roder up with his address.

Which leads to more confusion and it’s obvious that this agent is tripping over his words. The officer is threatened by the fake agent to wire money. He provides a badge number and a fake name, but when the officer asks to write it down, the schemer cannot seem to provide information that lines up.

Overall, this faux agent was caught in his scam and he hung up on the officer. The Eau Claire police department is warning individuals to be cautious when they receive messages from government agencies.
