Converus EyeDetect came to market in 2014. In March 2016 the company added its tagline.
LEHI, Utah – Sept. 18, 2020 – EyeDetect’s tagline, “The eyes don’t lie,” is now a registered service mark.
EyeDetect, by Converus, is considered a next-generation lie detection technology because it’s the first credibility assessment method that detects deception by analyzing involuntary eye behavior. It uses an eye tracking camera to take approximately 60 measurements per second of each eye during a 15- to 30-minute EyeDetect test.
“It took a team of scientists more than 10 years to develop the first lie detection method that can accurately and consistently detect deception by measuring involuntary eye behavior,” said Converus President and CEO Todd Mickelsen. “All the research studies prove that it works. EyeDetect validates truth because the eyes don’t lie.”
The U.S. Patent & Trademark office granted Converus a registered service mark for the EyeDetect tagline on Aug. 18 (U.S. Service Mark Registration No. 6,130,195). Converus first used this tagline March 1, 2016.
More than 500 customers worldwide use it to identify the most qualified job candidates, test criminal suspects, verify parolee compliance, and more. Research studies show EyeDetect is 86 to 90 percent accurate.
