Converus Releases Laptop Version of EyeDetect Station
As an alternative to previous versions of the equipment, the EyeDetect v4 laptop station offers faster set up, fewer parts and cables, and is more portable.
LEHI, Utah – January 20, 2020 – Already considered a highly portable credibility assessment tool, Converus EyeDetect just became even more portable with a new laptop version of the station. It will begin shipping Jan. 28.
Built around a Dell Latitude 3400 laptop, the EyeDetect v4 station includes an integrated webcam and keyboard, as well as a lightweight, compact stand. Specifications include an Intel i5 Processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and 3 USB ports. It also includes a full high-definition, 1920×1080 resolution monitor and an eye tracker — which is required to capture the necessary eye measurements during an EyeDetect test.
“The EyeDetect v4 station is more portable than previous versions, has fewer individual parts, minimal cables, and is quicker to set up,” said Converus President and CEO Todd Mickelsen when announcing the v4 station to attendees at the 6th Annual Converus Service Partner Conference in Las Vegas Jan. 15.
The v1 and v3 EyeDetect stations utilized a mini-computer and the v2 was based on a tablet. Converus Service Partners and customers can continue to use the v3 station or upgrade to the v4 station, said Mickelsen.
Converus Service Partners were quick to comment on the new EyeDetect station.
“The compact size of this new laptop version is an excellent improvement,” said Darryl Bullens of Forensic Technologies. “We service contracts all over the Ukraine, and so the portability of the EyeDetect stations is paramount because we often run multiple stations to maximize our daily efficiency.”
“The continual evolution and improvements made to the EyeDetect station help to preserve its place as one of the world’s premiere credibility assessment technologies,” add Courtney Roy of Louisiana-based Global Data Fusion.
EyeDetect is the first credibility assessment method based on an ocular-motor deception test (ODT), meaning it measures involuntary changes in eye behavior to detect deception. It’s currently used by more than 500 customers in 43 countries.
