UN Peacekeepers Use EyeDetect to Uncover Falsified Documents, Prevent Theft of Confidential Information
The Ukrainian office of UNSPIA, an international agency, has found Converus’ new lie detection technology saves time and reduces costs in the hiring process.
LEHI, Utah – July 26, 2019 – Since implementing the Converus EyeDetect lie detection technology in its hiring process last February, the Ukrainian office of the United Nations Soldiers of Peace International Association (UNSPIA) has reduced pre-employment screening by approximately 3 hours per examinee. Over the next year, UNSPIA says EyeDetect will reduce hiring expenses by approximately 20,000 euros.

UNSPIA first learned about EyeDetect from the United States Agency for International Development.
Nepochatov says feedback from EyeDetect examinees has been positive. Comments include: “That was fast,” and “[EyeDetect is] much more comfortable than the polygraph.”
Prior to adopting EyeDetect, UNSPIA’s Ukraine office found it difficult to confirm the identities and past actions of certain job candidates. Nepochatov said many frequently presented falsified documents and identities. In addition, some current employees were suspected of stealing confidential information. UNSPIA’s only methods for screening were various database analytical platforms similar to I2 (an IBM analytical platform), as well as profiling interviews.
