Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth in Your Organization
By Tyson Mickelsen, Marketing —
Wonder Woman, the fourth installment from the DC Extended Universe, reached $11 million for opening night on Thursday, June 1. As one of the most anticipated films for the summer, the movie is expected to gross more than $80 million during the weekend.
Diana Prince—A.K.A. Wonder Woman—uses a variety of weapons and tools to bring about justice: the sword of Athena, a shield, and the bracelets of submission. Particularly, the lasso of truth is especially unique. Anyone under its grip is forced to tell the truth. Essentially, the lasso of truth is a 100% accurate lie detector.
Wonder Woman’s Creator
What you probably didn’t know about Wonder Woman is her creator, William Marston, also helped develop the world’s first polygraph test. When Marston’s wife mentioned that her blood pressure rises when she gets mad, he began testing systolic blood pressure. The results from Marston’s research was later adopted into the polygraph (See Biography.com).
William Marston was fascinated with the idea of detecting lies, which explains why he gave his main comic book character a lasso to tell the truth.
The Lasso of Truth Today
A lasso of truth would be great for today’s world. It could be used to see if criminals are telling the truth in court, to test if employees are accepting bribes, to examine incoming refugees, or to simply find out if your kids really stole a cookie from the cookie jar.
Maybe Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth doesn’t exist, but the truth can still be accurately detected.
With EyeDetect, an optical scanner measures bio-cognitive responses, such as changes in pupil diameter, eye movement, eye blinks, and fixations. The bigger the lie, the greater the cognitive response.
In a 30-minute test, EyeDetect can detect the truth with 86% accuracy. With four stations, 40 tests can be administered per day, making EyeDetect a fast, cost-effective tool. For maximum accuracy, polygraph can be combined with EyeDetect to achieve 98.9% confidence.
EyeDetect can be used to test drug use, theft, fraud, terrorism, unauthorized transactions, and much more. EyeDetect is the next generation of lie detectors—the lasso of truth in today’s world.
