Show Business Corruption
By Kaiden Waldram, Marketing —
Hollywood is known for making movies about villains who rob and deceive people. It isn’t, however, known for being the one that is doing the robbing and deceiving. This was the case in a recent lawsuit.
Wolf of Hollywood
Red Granite Pictures, the company that produced “Wolf of Wall Street,” was recently involved in a corruption scandal. The accusations concerned embezzlement in order to fund movie making. The company does not admit any wrongdoing but it has agreed to pay $60 million in order to resolve the allegations.
Who is Truly Guilty?
This is a situation where it is difficult to determine. Very few people would say that they were guilty if there was no proof to prove it. So, there would be no way of knowing if Red Granite Pictures is truly innocent unless there was evidence to prove it.
A New Solution
There is a company called Converus® that has created a product that can determine if someone is truly guilty. This product is called EyeDetect®. It is an eye detection software that determines if someone is lying based on their eye movements and dilation. This eye lie detector is cost-efficient, fast, and has one of the highest lie detector test accuracy rates. By implementing EyeDetect, we could prove innocence or guilt for a lot of cases. Perhaps this technology will one day be used to fight corruption in Hollywood movies, both behind the scenes and portrayed on the big screen!
