Political Campaigns and Money Laundering

Many have gone the route of gaining funding for campaigns illegally, and this sort of desperation shows the character of any person.

What do sporting events, the stock market, prices at local gas stations, and students striving for perfect grades all have something in common? Competition. They all have a desire to be the best in the end, and competition is the main driver for these types of successes in the world. Politicians are no exception to this driver for success. They constantly compete against other politicians in hopes of gaining power. At any level—a local mayor election or the presidential election—politicians are relentlessly trying to win the hearts of their community, state, and country.
Dishonest Practices for Getting Ahead
Ruthlessness can take the best of anyone. Some turn to illegal methods of getting what they want in intense and stressful competitions. Though there are many ways to cheat in any competition, money laundering is a major concern in the midst of political campaigns, especially during the election seasons. Why? Because you need financial backing to even be considered a threat to other candidates. And some really don’t have enough to last long.
Money laundering should be concerning to the citizens who vote as well as the competing candidates. Many have gone the route of gaining funding for campaigns illegally, and this sort of desperation shows the character of any person. If you are desperate enough to gain financial advantage illegally, who’s to say that your talk of integrity will withstand in office?
It is the right of the citizens to choose those they believe are the truest to what they say, yet money laundering can illegally set one of these politicians at an unfair advantage, as a result could lead to a downward spiral in the quality of leaders that govern the people.
A Clean Politician
This begs the question, is there any way to prevent illegal activities from occurring? EyeDetect, the world’s next generation lie detector, could be administered to politicians during election season. If found guilty of money laundering, the politician should be disqualified from competing in the campaign. As a result, it would hold politicians truer to their word. This product has the ability to revolutionize how we feel about the campaigners by knowing if their desires truly align in the best interest of the people.
