Links Between Terrorism and Identity Theft?
By Ashley Mazerolle, Marketing —
Fake identification is a huge and crucial tool for terrorism. The terrorist attacks in Paris earlier this year proved that identity theft and fraud are directly tied to global security. Terrorists have a greater ability to falsifying identities and it’s causing a major weakness in US counter-terrorism efforts.
FAKE ID’s
Terrorists heavily rely on stolen and fake forms of identification. Imagine a person formerly banned from travel, gets their hands on a fake passport, and they can now infiltrate countries, avoid being detected on ‘no fly lists’, and allows them to reach potential target locations.
Global Safety
To give you a better idea, 6 of the 19 terrorists involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks used fake names and passports. Now the times have changed and the Department of Homeland security has taken greater measures to ensure national and global safety.
EyeDetect would be an asset to helping curb terrorism. If the US government would incorporate the quick, 30-minute EyeDetect exam, this could significantly help in verify identities of persons of interest. For instance, TSA could have a private room set up where persons whose identification is questionable, could sit down and take a quick exam.
